New York—December 20, 2021— Cohen Ziffer Frenchman & McKenna LLP is pleased to announce that chair and founding partner Robin Cohen has been selected for Crain’s New York Business’ Notable Women in Law award. This annual award recognizes female lawyers practicing in the New York City metro area for their professional, civic, and philanthropic achievements.
Throughout the course of her more than 30-year career, Cohen has recovered over $5 billion in assets for her policyholder clients. Recognized as one of the most prominent and influential lawyers in the insurance bar, Cohen helps corporate policyholders secure insurance coverage for their largest losses in matters involving asbestos, directors and officers issues, employee coverage, employee dishonesty, environmental, first-party, product liability, toxic tort, and other claims.
Cohen and her team have also been at the forefront of business interruption cases for companies that suffered losses due to Covid-19. In one of the first major wins for policyholders in business interruption cases, Cohen and her team secured a ruling that a contamination exclusion in client Thor Equities, LLC’s commercial property policy did not bar coverage for its pandemic-related losses.
Cohen has received numerous accolades throughout her career and, within the past year alone, has been honored as a “Woman of Influence” by the New York Business Journal, an “MVP” by Law360, and a “Trailblazer” by New York Law Journal. She is consistently recognized by Chambers USA, Benchmark Litigation, and Legal 500, and her firm was selected as the “2021 Litigation Department of the Year for Insurance” by the New York Law Journal.
