My Approach
I truly enjoy developing a strong rapport with clients, both to gain their trust and see their perspective and concerns. Understanding what they do, why they do it, and how they see their organization’s future helps shape our approach going forward. Then, if we go to litigation, we’re better able to plot the most effective path to secure their preferred results.
Overview
Bringing broad experience with complex civil commercial litigation and investigations to his practice, Alex Harris advocates for New York-based clients and organizations nationwide. He previously litigated in a broad spectrum of industries and business sectors. This familiarity enables him to come up to speed very quickly on new issues—even ones that are in somewhat arcane or specialized areas.
Alex places an emphasis on crafting strategies based on a foundation of his clients’ best interests and top priorities. He holds in-depth conversations with those he represents to get a detailed sense of their circumstances, problems, and opportunities. Alex relishes the chance to devise effective and often innovative solutions to their legal issues.
An outstanding communicator, Alex excels at conveying complex ideas—both when speaking with clients as an advisor and when addressing judges and juries as an advocate. With excellent writing skills, he delivers clear, compelling briefs that distill complicated legal and business issues into cogent and straightforward prose.
Previously, Alex gained valuable insight serving as an associate at two New York litigation-focused firms, and, prior to that, as a law clerk in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and in the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Tennessee. This rich background gave him a well-rounded view of all aspects of litigation, from inception through discovery, trials and, in some cases, appeals to the highest levels. Alex now draws on this diverse knowledge base to advise clients on realistic risks and benefits of various approaches and possible outcomes.
