My Approach

My clients pursue high-stakes, complicated insurance matters, and they need to know the facts to fully understand their situations. As a candid and detail-oriented attorney, I view it as my job to procure and present them with all relevant information—the good, the bad, and the ugly—so together we can make well-reasoned decisions.

Overview

Bringing valuable high-level trial experience to his practice, Evan Jaffe handles a wide range of matters stemming from disputes over significant insurance claims and other insurance-related legal challenges to complex commercial litigations. With a passion for out-preparing opposing counsel, Evan applies his highly competitive nature and relentless work ethic to every client issue, large or small. Clients appreciate these attributes as well as his cordial personality.

Prior to starting private practice at a New York litigation boutique, Evan served as an assistant corporation counsel for the Special Federal Litigation Division of the New York City Law Department. In this position Evan shepherded many proceedings from discovery to trial and served as lead counsel on dozens of federal cases in which he defended city police and correction officers in civil rights litigation. Previously, Evan interned with the Criminal and Civil Divisions of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York, the Queens County District Attorney’s Office, and the Hon. Eileen Bransten of the Commercial Division of the New York State Supreme Court.

Evan’s vast experiences in a diverse array of judicial arenas built and honed his substantial litigation skills, including his outstanding advocacy techniques and commanding courtroom presence. An excellent communicator, he articulates his explanations to clients as clearly as he lays out an argument in trial.

Always forthcoming about the strengths and weaknesses of clients’ particular legal circumstances, as well as the risks inherent in litigation in general, Evan strives hard to gain every advantage possible for those he represents. He does this in part through performing exhaustive legwork to familiarize himself with every aspect of his clients’ matters, enabling him to frame issues shrewdly early on. He also comes into every case with a forceful, but professional, approach that tends to knock the opposition off balance and put them on their heels from the outset.
