My Approach

I enjoy digging into the facts of a dispute, understanding the people and circumstances involved, and determining how to turn a complicated set of facts into a persuasive narrative. The best litigation strategies emerge from close collaboration with clients and colleagues, with a clear-eyed recognition of the legal issues, business considerations, and costs involved. I bring curiosity, a practical mindset, and a sense of humor to my work because even when the issues are difficult, the process of working through them doesn’t have to be.

Overview

Jaime Fried represents clients in complex commercial litigation and insurance coverage and recovery matters. Her broad litigation background encompasses contractual and other business disputes, trade secrets litigation, and antitrust matters. Before joining CZFM, Jaime practiced at Debevoise & Plimpton, where she developed a broad-based litigation practice spanning industries such as technology, insurance, pharmaceuticals, and real estate. Having represented both plaintiffs and defendants, Jaime brings valuable perspective on the competing interests and strategies that shape litigation.

Her litigation experience includes drafting dispositive motions, conducting depositions, and managing complex discovery in high-stakes litigation.  Her background also includes internal investigations and advising clients on cybersecurity incidents and data breach response. Across these matters, she draws on her ability to distill complex legal and factual issues into clear, persuasive arguments.

Jaime understands that litigation decisions rarely occur in a vacuum. Clients must weigh the merits of their positions against costs, operational disruptions, available resources and broader business objectives. She has led litigation teams and developed case strategies that account for both immediate legal questions and the longer-term implications of strategic decisions. She works closely with clients to ensure that the approach to each matter reflects their priorities, incorporates their insights, and establishes realistic expectations about the path ahead.

Experience across a wide range of commercial disputes enables Jaime to approach new legal and factual issues with confidence and perspective.  She brings that versatility to insurance recovery litigation, where understanding the underlying claims and the broader business context can be just as important as analyzing the coverage issues themselves.
