My Approach
Insurance intersects with some of the most significant, and often difficult, business matters — so, my goal is to be a competent and calming resource. I try both to know more about a case than anyone else and to be the most reasonable person in any room. With everyone at Cohen Ziffer striving equally for such excellence, our clients are always in great hands.
Overview
Jason brings a focused, results-oriented approach, as well as previous law firm and insurance coverage experience, to his work for clients seeking coverage – whether that be for business interruption due to COVID-19, asbestos mitigation, suits brought against them or underlying portfolio companies, or numerous other matters.
With a keen knack for contractual nuance, Jason carefully analyzes the potential impact of every word or phrase within a policy. His aim is not only to fit the allegations in, in order to prove the coverage that exists, but – through his persuasive articulation and argument, possibly even to expand coverage, as a matter of precedent, in ever-new and creative ways for clients.
Prior to joining Cohen Ziffer, Jason worked as an associate at a regional powerhouse firm; clerked for The Honorable Zahid N. Quraishi, a federal district court judge in New Jersey; and interned at a boutique law practice, an IT service management company and Marsh & McClennan. With these meaningful work experiences, he was able to enhance his research and writing skills – and to observe the law in a practical business context – to a degree that arguably surpassed his actual years of practice.
Extensive international travel and educational experiences, while at Seton Hall University School of Law and beyond, have offered additional insights and further enriched Jason’s world view. With any new matter, he commits to going beyond the fact pattern and delving into the specific underlying aspects of a client’s business, in order to gain a strong contextual foundation on which to overlay his ultimate legal strategy.
Jason serves as an Adjunct Professor at Seton Hall University, teaching Persuasive Speaking in the College of Human Development, Culture, and Media. As an Adjunct, Jason is also a Coach for Seton Hall University’s Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl Team.
