Maria Brinkmann concentrates her practice on insurance recovery, exclusively on behalf of policyholders.
Prior to the start of her career, Maria served as a law clerk to the Honorable Katharine S. Hayden of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
During law school, Maria was a judicial intern for the Honorable Ronald L. Ellis of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. She also worked as a legal intern at the Natural Resources Defense Council, Earthjustice, and the NYC Department of Health, and as a student attorney in the Economic Justice Project Clinic at City University of New York (CUNY) School of Law. Maria served as the Special Events Editor of the CUNY Law Review and the chapter president and debate mentor for the nonprofit Legal Outreach.
Prior to attending law school, Maria was the Director of Partnerships & Engagement at Edible Schoolyard NYC, an education non-profit that advocates on food justice issues. She also worked for many years as a professional Equity-member stage actor.
Maria serves on the board at Mercy Center, a South Bronx community-based organization that provides comprehensive education, work readiness, and family services.
