My Approach

I believe clients deserve clear answers, practical guidance, and an advocate who’s willing to tell them not only what the law says, but what it means for them. I value direct communication, thoughtful strategy, and strong relationships built on responsiveness and reliability. Most of all, I'm passionate about helping clients achieve the justice they deserve.

Overview

Nora Niazian represents policyholders in complex insurance recovery disputes, drawing on a background in high-stakes investigations, litigation, and regulatory matters. Before joining Cohen Ziffer Frenchman & McKenna, she represented multinational corporations, financial institutions, and other clients in government investigations, internal investigations, civil disputes, and cross-border matters, developing the strategic thinking and analytical skills she now brings to insurance coverage litigation.

Nora practiced in the White Collar & Regulatory Defense Group at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP. Her work included matters involving the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), federal and state regulatory investigations, commercial litigation, arbitration, and antitrust issues. She also helped clients navigate complex settlement negotiations, sensitive regulatory hearings, and matters involving extensive witness interviews, experiences that strengthened her ability to anticipate issues, evaluate risk, and guide clients through difficult decisions.

Clients and colleagues value Nora’s thoughtful, detail-oriented approach and her ability to distill complex legal issues into clear, practical advice. A careful writer and strategic thinker, she believes the best advocacy combines rigorous legal analysis with an understanding of each client’s business objectives and real-world concerns. She enjoys working closely with clients, maintaining open communication throughout a matter, and serving as a trusted advisor as well as an advocate.

Nora brings a broad international perspective to her practice. During law school, she worked at the United Nations in Geneva and later volunteered in Armenia, where she helped translate interviews with prisoners of war and conducted research on the Geneva Conventions in support of international legal advocacy efforts, including before the European Court of Human Rights.

Those experiences, together with her commitment to pro bono service and her ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds, continue to shape her approach to representing clients with insight, empathy, professionalism, and determination.
