My Approach
I enjoy synthesizing the law and the facts in a case and then finding the sweet spot where the two meld together. This approach enables me to advocate in the most effective way by precisely tailoring the case story to its audience, whether that’s a judge, jury, mediator, or government regulator.
Overview
Drawing on a wide range of experience as a litigator, Samantha (“Sam”) Singh pursues optimal outcomes for insurance policyholders whose claims have been rejected or insufficiently fulfilled by insurance companies. She finds it gratifying to shape persuasive case narratives that help right wrongs and secure fair payouts for her clients.
Sam’s robust and diverse background includes commercial litigation, bankruptcy litigation, false claims act litigation, first amendment retaliation litigation, trademark disputes, contract disputes, and government investigations. Sam has experience litigating across federal bankruptcy, district, and appellate courts, as well as various state courts. Her work on both the plaintiffs’ and defendants’ sides enables her to strategically anticipate the moves that adverse counsel will take. The wide range of subjects she’s handled allows her to look at circumstances with fresh eyes and find innovative solutions to novel problems
Sam fosters open communication with clients, that has led to discovering information that has changed the trajectory of cases. Collaborating closely, she thoroughly prepares them for depositions, trials, and other appearances. Clients appreciate her doggedness, confidence, attention to detail, and steady-but-firm advocacy style. They also benefit from her ability to constantly track, and help them navigate, the rapidly shifting legal and regulatory environments.
Previously, Sam performed extensive pro bono work, taking on great responsibility in cases and handling issues relating to human rights, capital punishment, prisoners’ rights, and First Amendment claims. These heavy-hitting assignments honed her advocacy and trial skills. In this capacity, she launched and spearheaded lawsuits and briefing, defended depositions, and presented oral arguments in federal court.
Originally from Guyana, Sam is of Guyanese descent, and speaks Guyanese Creaole. She is also conversational in Spanish, as well as in Hindi and Urdu. She has been active in the DEI and recruiting spaces, and feels honored to serve as a mentor and role model to others from her community, as well as other first-generation students, as they pursue advanced studies and enter the legal profession.
