Overview
Drawing on experience with U.S. and international clients, Stephanie Clemente provides strategic advising and counseling to clients in a wide range of industries. With excellent research, writing and analytical skills, she helps those she represents navigate the ever-changing landscape of insurance coverage and recovery.
Stephanie takes a proactive approach to anticipate the other side’s arguments so she can best advocate for her clients at every stage in the dispute process. Always looking for effective ways to prevent litigation, Stephanie draws on her background in negotiation, mediation and alternative dispute resolution to forge creative paths forward that avoid expensive courtroom trials.
Previously, Stephanie practiced as a trademark and copyright associate, where she honed her ability to take in a great deal of information about diverse businesses and industries, identify the key facts in matters touching on many areas of law, and incorporate new developments into the issues she’s handling. She communicates clearly and frequently with clients and distills complex legal concepts into easily comprehended terms.
As a judicial extern for the Honorable Jennifer E. Willis of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, Stephanie observed many settlement proceedings and criminal cases. The experience underscored the value of gaining a full understanding of all involved parties’ points of view, finding common ground, and working towards agreements that result in mutually beneficial outcomes.
Stephanie works closely and collaboratively with her teams, contributing excellent interpersonal skills and an optimistic, morale-boosting outlook. A former teacher who taught abroad, she speaks three languages in addition to English—Spanish, Arabic and Tagalog—and interacts comfortably with people from all types of professions and cultures.
