New York––July 27, 2022––Cohen Ziffer Frenchman & McKenna is pleased to announce that four partners have been named to Benchmark Litigation’s 2022 40 & Under List. The annual list highlights attorneys 40 or younger who clients and peers have identified as the most promising emerging talent in their respective litigation community.
The Cohen Ziffer partners recognized by Benchmark this year are:
Since the firm’s launch in January 2021, Cohen Ziffer has secured multiple groundbreaking rulings on behalf of policyholders, including a $400 million award for New Jersey Transit Corporation over damage sustained in Superstorm Sandy, and a $24 million win for Verizon clarifying what qualifies as a “securities claim” under directors & officers insurance policies that commonly protect senior executives—a previously unresolved question of insurance law.
Cohen Ziffer has also been at the forefront of business interruption cases involving coverage for COVID-19, and has advised more than 100 clients on pandemic-related insurance matters. Notably, the firm secured a first-of-its-kind ruling for policyholder Thor Equities – a landlord that owns retail locations in global cities – which has been cited as authority in other cases. The group also notched a precedential ruling allowing a pandemic-related insurance coverage case brought by policyholder JDS Construction Group, LLC to move forward.
